What We Do
We specialise in the surveying of all types of residential property – new and old, large and small. Most surveying companies offer a very limited range of survey styles – normally only extending to the RICS Homebuyer Report and a Building Survey.
r +s charles however offer a range of surveys that has been developed to give you more choice and the style of survey report that is best suited to your particular requirements.
For example - if you are purchasing a newly built property an RICS Homebuyer Survey or Building Survey is unlikely to give you much useful advice. Our New Home Snagging Survey will however give you a concise schedule of faults and defects which need to be dealt with by the builder. We also offer an after-sale service with our New Home Snagging Survey, so that you can be sure of helpful advice and guidance if something unforeseen does start to go wrong with your new home once you have moved into it.
We offer a standard Building Survey which can be used for any second-hand property but also offer a Heritage Building Survey for those clients who are buying a period or Listed property. The Heritage Building Survey provides additional information over and above the standard Building Survey, which is specific to period and Listed buildings. The Heritage Building Survey will be prepared by one of our Chartered Surveyors who has experience and specialised knowledge of period buildings and building conservation techniques.
Our range of specialised survey reports also includes – The Cavity Wall Tie Survey and The Timber and Damp Survey. For more information about these surveys refer to the Publications page. Both of these surveys involve the investigation of specific building defects and the findings and recommendations are based on proper scientific investigation and analysis. Unlike many ‘specialist’ contractors we are not selling treatment services or products. You can therefore be confident that the advice that you receive from us will be impartial and objective.
